The raw-ity of the Chinese New Year feast

I’m ready to be back to experiment again in my kitchen after spending two weeks at my parents’ for Chinese New Year. The wonderful thing about being home with mom is the assurance that at mealtimes, there will be at least  one favorite dish that is served – and that without my slaving for hours in the kitchen. From mom’s classic chicken curry to stewed chicken claws with sea cucumber, we were treated to dishes that are staple to our simple but absolutely delish New Year’s feast. One of things I did do differently this year was to drop in to the kitchen every once in a while to check out what mom was up to. While I was there, I managed to capture some of the elements of the feast in their raw form. Cool stuff!
